What is the Chico Running Club?

The Chico Running Club (CRC) was founded in August, 1975 by a group of nine dedicated runners. We have a diverse group of members with runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. We are dedicated to keeping the sports of running and walking alive. The club founded two of Chico’s largest races, the Bidwell Classic and Almond Bowl, which have raised thousands of dollars for the local running programs at Chico and Pleasant Valley High Schools.

The CRC is a nonprofit organization, designated as a 501(c)4 – Civic leagues, social welfare organizations and local associations, created to promote community welfare for charitable, educational or recreational purposes. Donations to the club are not tax deductible.

Chico Running Club’s Mission

  • Encourage exercise for fun and fitness for people in the Chico area and beyond.
  • Encourage non-competitive participation in the sport of running.
  • Facilitate competitive running for those who wish to improve their performance.
