Don’t Miss the 4th of July 5k!

Join us for a 4th of July celebration, the Run Like a Hero 5k presented by Chico Striders and Chico Running Club. Race proceeds benefit Chico Striders Run Strong Scholarship presented to graduating high school senior athletes. Our theme this year is Run Like a Hero- wear your favorite hero costume or best Independence Day attire!

Date: Saturday July 4th, 2026 @ 7:30am
Registration: Will be available until 11:30pm on July 3rd. No race day registration is available.
Location: Bidwell Park – NEW! Start and end at Five Mile Recreation Area due to lower park paving project – (Google Map)
Bibs and Timing: Bibs will be given to all race entrants. Packet pick-up will be at Fleet Feet Friday July 3rd between 11am-1pm. Bib pick-up can also be done the day of the race at Five Mile Recreation Area, starting at 6:45am. Timing will be performed by Chico Running Club.

Discounted Registration: Chico Striders Chico Running Club, and Bidwell Run Club Members receive $10 off race registration, select the Team option. For non members please select No Team. Please do not register for the discounted race fee if you are not a running club member.

Refreshments: Drinks and snacks will be provided after the race. Please stay after completing the race to cheer on other participants as they cross the finish.

Volunteers: Not ready to participate? Volunteers are needed and welcome for this race. Please click on the volunteer tab in the RunSignUp menu to sign up.

2026 New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day 2027 5k
Join us for a Chico Running Club tradition our New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day 5k!
New Year’s Eve 2026 5k
When: 5:30pm
Where: Wildwood Park, Chico (Google Map)
What: Fun run to Horseshoe Lake and Back
Details: Say goodbye to the old year with a fun social run into upper park. It’s dark out there, so bring a headlamp or flashlight to light your way.

New Year’s Day 2027 5k
When: 9:00am
Where: Bidwell Park, Sycamore Field (Google Map)
What: New Year’s 5k on the official City of Chico Bidwell Park Course
Registration: Will open in December 2026.  
Details: Start the New Year right with CRC’s New Year’s Day 5k run, with our race timing clock running for those of you who want a challenge on the first day of the year!
We’ll have refreshments- coffee, hot chocolate, pastries and CRC gear for purchase.
