Don’t miss this fun race: The Jackpot Mile coming on January 10th

The Race Rules are simple and a runner of any age, pace, or ability can win:

  • Name your target pace for one mile (e.g. 8:00 minutes)
  • You will be scored on how close you can get to your target pace, but…
  • The race is run blind, you cannot use your phone or watch to assist your pacing. We will have a tech check at registration to hold your devices during the race.
  • Runners who are closest to their target will win a share of the jackpot for the race based on placing. Proceeds will be divided 50/50 between the race jackpot and Chico Running Club. Race funds go to support CRC’s non-profit mission to support runners, the Chico running community, and host races in town.
  • After all runners have completed the mile the races times will be scored against the pre-race target times and winners will be announced. You must be present to win. 

When: Saturday January 10th, 2026 @ 9am
Where: Bidwell Park- One Mile Sycamore Pool on the Vallombrosa Avenue Side (Google Map)
What: A timed one mile race on the new black top of the North Park drive. Bibs will be assigned, but the CRC race clock will not be timing this blind race!
Entry: $20 per participant
Jackpot: 50% of race proceeds awarded as prizes
Food & Drinks: Refreshments to follow the race.
Course: Will be a one half mile out and back from the gate at One Mile on Petersen Memorial Drive (Strava Course Map)

ANNUAL NEW YEAR’S RUNS
2025 New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day 2026 5k
Join us for a Chico Running Club tradition our New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day 5k!
New Year’s Eve 2025 5k
When: 5:30pm
Where: Wildwood Park, Chico (Google Map)
What: Fun run to Horseshoe Lake and Back
Details: Say goodbye to the old year with a fun social run into upper park. It’s dark out there, so bring a headlamp or flashlight to light your way.


New Year’s Day 2026 5k
When: 9:00am
Where: Bidwell Park, Sycamore Field (Google Map)
What: New Year’s 5k on the official City of Chico Bidwell Park Course
Registration: Free on RunSignUp  
Details: Start the New Year right with CRC’s New Year’s Day 5k run, with our race timing clock running for those of you who want a challenge on the first day of the year!
We’ll have refreshments- coffee, hot chocolate, donuts and CRC gear for purchase.

Monthly Club Meeting
Our monthly meeting is on the 2nd Tuesday of each month and starts at 5:30pm. Club members and visitors can enjoy free pizza while they chat with other local runners. We meet at The Commons in Chico.
